Narcissistic abuse is a form of emotional abuse that can have a significant impact on your physical and mental health. When you are in a relationship with a narcissist, your emotions are constantly being manipulated, which can hijack your reticular activating system. 

The reticular activating system is a part of your brain that controls your attention and focus. When your emotions are being manipulated, your brain is constantly on high alert, which can lead to an increase in cortisol, the stress hormone. This increase in cortisol can have a negative impact on your nervous and immune systems, making you more susceptible to illness and disease. 

Furthermore, narcissistic abuse can lead to a range of physical symptoms, including headaches, digestive issues, and chronic pain. It can also lead to mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. 

If you are experiencing narcissistic abuse, it is essential to seek help and support. This can include therapy, life coaching, support groups, and self-care practices such as meditation and exercise. It is also important to set boundaries and prioritize your own well-being.
